has anyone's ptsd been triggered by funerals or death of loved one?

My counselor told me I may have ptsd,and it is likely as I have many symptoms. I developed it after my grandpa passed away from cancer. I've felt alone and embarrassed, because its hard to find people who are going through the same thing. I know there are people out there though. I'm scared to talk about it though for fear someone will make light of it or tell me I shouldn't feel this way.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, I would think the degree of stress to cause it varies by individual, and you say your therapist suggested it, so it very well may be. . http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/mobileart.asp?articlekey=12578 . The linked site suggests that things such as divorce or unemployment (I trust they mean the sudden and likely unexpected loss of one's job) can cause PTSD, though typically these situations, according to the site, do not fit the usual definition of it. . Certainly a funeral can be similarly or more traumatic to a divorce or job loss.
